Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture is just one part of an ancient Chinese medicinal practice. In Chinese Medicine we take a holistic approach to supporting health and treating disease. It is though the integration of mind, body, and spirit that health and longevity are allowed to thrive. The model of promoting health and prevention of disease in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is based on the idea of maintaining a free flow of qi (our life force), blood, and fluids, as well as freeing and fostering an emotional equilibrium of the mind. These are all considered fundamental requirements for abundant health.

Jenise’s ten years of experience practicing Chinese Medicine, along with Master’s Degrees in Dance and Exercise Physiology allow her to provide a total-wellness approach to treatment.

Acupuncture is a safe, effective and natural way to promote and enhance the body’s own natural, inherent healing abilities. Chinese Medicine believe that when there is free flow in the body there is no pain or disease, and when there is not free flow there is. Acupuncture is the process by which free flow is restored.

This is the simplest way to understand this ancient medicine. It all comes down to reestablishing free flow of qi (energy), blood, and fluids to restore more balance health.

Herbal consultations are a way to provide patients with a customized herbal formula. After the one-on-one intake, a herbal formula will be recommended. The herbs can be taken in tincture, pills or granules. We will discuss all the options available.

Cupping is an ancient technique of pulling “stuck,” stagnant, and congealed blood and fluids out of injured, tight, or spasming muscle tissue. This is achieved by creating a suction using glass cups that pull up the fascia and tight or injured muscle tissue into the cups.

How it Works

Cupping releases tight, painful muscle and fascia that speeds up the healing process by increasing blood flow to the tissues. When the “stuck” blood and fluids are pulled to the surface they produce a purple discoloration. The stagnant blood and trapped fluids can then be reabsorbed by the lymph system.

Cupping techniques can also be used when there is congestion and fluid in the lungs. This can help restore lung function and promote quicker recovery from lung disorders.

Chinese Medicine has a powerful and positive influence on improving fertility health in both men and women. It is recommended that treatment for fertility health starts three months prior to trying to conceive. This ensures that the hormones are balanced and the body is at its optimal health. In my practice, I also integrate Chinese Medicine with IUI and IVF and egg harvesting protocols with great success.

How Acupuncture Helps:

  • Regulation of hormones
  • Improving egg quality by increasing blood flow to the uterus
  • Reducing stress
  • Regulating ovulation

Facial rejuvenation is a timeless beauty technique that lessens the appearance of fine lines, stimulates collagen, reduces puffiness and inflammation, and improves skin tone and circulation. The treatments involve placing very fine needles in specific facial points as well as scalp and body acupuncture points.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

It is recommended to have a series of eight to ten sessions from one to two treatments on a weekly schedule.

Natural fruit peels using “Cosmedix” products are also used with the facial rejuvenations if indicated. These peels can help reveal a more even and radiant skin.

Dietary and lifestyle recommendation are also a part of these treatments.

The evaluation of postural imbalances is included with acupuncture treatments for muscular-skeletal problems. Only through learning and understanding the specific muscular and postural imbalance can the patient fully recover. The patient is given exercises and recommendations to follow at home to promote healing.
